We are encouraged by Daniel Bameyi’s move to Slovenia, for it represents the kind of transition Nigerian youth football desperately needs. Too often, talented players struggle to bridge the gap between local exposure and sustained professional careers abroad. Bameyi’s transfer signals that such a path remains open and attainable.

We recognise that ND Primorje are not one of Europe’s giants, yet we must not underestimate the importance of this move. Smaller clubs often offer the perfect environment for growth, responsibility and competitive experience. Unlike the glare of bigger stages, here Bameyi has the chance to mature steadily while still playing at a professional level that demands consistency.

We believe this deal also highlights the importance of local academies like Yum-Yum FC, which serve as critical stepping stones for promising players. Their work ensures Nigerian talent is not just raw but also prepared to meet international standards of professionalism and discipline.
We hold firm to the view that this move is not only a personal milestone for Bameyi but also a positive sign for Nigerian football. His reflects the resilience and ambition that continue to define our players. It is precisely this spirit that convinces us Nigerian football is moving in the right direction.
